Marching Techniques


The entire Purdue Drumline marches using a low roll step, as shown above. Snares, basses, and tenors NEVER use the high chair techniques that the rest of the band uses, due to drums being in the way. 

Cymbals, however, are able to utilize both the low and high chair marching techniques. These marching styles are explained below, and used throughout the rest of the band. Our cymbal line prides themselves in being some of the best marchers in the band, often setting examples of proper marching technique for the rest of the band.
