Band Camp (August 11-17, 2019)
Auditions consist of three distinct portions: playing, marching, and attitude.
Playing Auditions
Playing auditions are conducted on the first day of band camp (August 11, 2019). Each candidate will two rudiments and the audition cadence (1934). Cymbals are also required to do the prepared visual.

Marching Auditions
- Band camp (marching auditions) lasts the entire week before the fall semester begins.
- It is run mainly by the band staff and faculty, with the student leaders leading their individual sections.
- We will be with the rest of the band, following the same itinerary, which can be found below.
- It will be physically intense - prepare yourself!
- We will play most of the current music on the "Music" page, which can be found here.
- We will play the entire cadence sequence multiple times a day. Know it well.
Attitude
While the above two audition phases (the Sunday night audition and band camp itself) are both very important, attitude is the most important part of auditions. We are not a competition band. Your playing ability will not overshadow your personality. We will not put up with poor attitudes, even from excellent players. We have let go of veterans and cut members mid-season due to attitude problems. If you refuse to learn, if you're hard to work with, or if you have a bad attitude, it will affect your chances of securing and maintaining a spot on this line.
We do not tolerate poor behavior or bad attitudes. No exceptions.
